The boys played a disciplined game against the Spitfires tonight. They came out of the dressing room determined after reviewing their last place position in the playoff standings.
Ben Grover, Owen Dremak & Chad Deveto piled up 13 points on the night.
The puck movement game we have been stressing was evident throughout the night, and our Defense played smart hockey in our end, while showing great composure in starting the play time after time. Special mention to Noah Hunks with the shutout tonight, and a strong focus in controlling the rebounds.
Thanks to the Coaching staff tonight for their input before and during the game in changing things up a bit.....
One game at a time boys, from this point forward ...................

Real happy with the total "team effort" put out by every player on Saturday night. We have been striving to improve on moving pucks forward quickly, and finding teamates in the open to pass to. The importance of passing and using each other only gets greater with each game and (in the future) each level of hockey we play. Last night clearly the team made its best effort to move the puck, and use each other for the better of the team.

Tyke Division - Leafs - Leafs In Action Against Sharks

The Leafs have two ice times this week at the Civic Centre: A practice on Friday, Feb. 17 at 5pm and a game on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 5pm. The Leafs play against the Sharks. Daniel Desroches will suit up in goal for the Leafs. It will be his first time as the Leaf goalie. A Leaf win will make their win-loss record at 2-2.

NOTE: Leaf players are welcome to attend the Little Saints skating program on Monday nights at the Civic Centre to improve their skating skills. There are two sessions on Mondays: 5-6pm and 6-7pm. Check www.bchl.net for scheduling details.

Well, after three tournaments we have to be more than happy with being in the finals in all of them. Finishing second to the powerful Burlington Bulldogs is nothing to hang our heads about. Without a question they have at least three players that could play at a higher level than md. To get by them, would truly take our very best effort and some support from the hockey gods.

Tyke Division - Leafs - Leaf Try to Regain Winning Ways

The Leafs have two upcoming ice times this coming weekend:

A practice on Friday Feb. 10 at 6pm at the CIVIC CENTRE.

A game on Saturday Feb. 11 at 11am at the CIVIC CENTRE.

The Leafs will try to improve upon their 1-1 record in their upcoming game against the Flyers this Saturday. Matthew Humphrey will suit up as the Leaf goalie. It will be his first game as goalie for the Leafs.
